See Paul Van Komen's report. (He had the splits as I ran with him the whole way. Thanks Paul for the encouragement at the end)

No, really as I look back I can not decide what went wrong the last part of the marathon. I thought I had trained enough to hold an 8 to 8:15 minute pace at the end but I crashed. The worst part is I am more sore than I have been for the past 10 - 15 marathons.

I do feel good that I kept running but wonder if one walk earlier might have made a difference. Will just have to chalk this race up to experience and set ou to do better (much better) at St. George.

Johnny, was very cool to meet you. Your time is not bad at all! That was a brutal course in my opinion. That last 10K is just horrible, after your legs have been pounded to death. Keep working hard, STG is right around the corner.

Smooth, There are you happy. Teena asked where my report was so I had to just tell her to look at Paul's.

Mike,

You did great. You're right it is a hard course, but I still feel beaten. I might have to try again another year.

That's it??? See Paul's report???

I can't help but think:

Señor Ramon: "What is this?"

Nacho: "Leftovers, enjoy."

Señor Ramon: "There is no flavor. There are no spices. Where are the chips?"

C'mon Johnny ... give it to us real!!!

You did FANTASTIC btw. Sorry that you are feeling a little beat up (would this be a good time to challenge you to a push-up dual?).

Johnny!

Don't you love funny chicks naggin' ya?

Seriously, I have not read one report with anything but "brutal, undulating, boring, torturous, death march, not to mention the HEAT" in describing that last 10K. DNews is a beast! That's why people have run it again and again to slay that dragon. It prepares you for SGM like no other.

SO PROUD OF YOU FOR TOUGHING IT OUT! WOW, 15 marathons under your belt! WAY TO GO!!! The soreness is good sore! Here's to speedy recovery and speedy SGM!

Teena,

You'd kick my butt.

Smooth,

Thanks. I hope St George is better. Did I see you are running Park City. That one got the best of me a few years ago and I have yet to try it again. Good Luck.
