Decided to run a little further this morning to make up for the running miles I missed last week at Trek. We walked about 25 miles over the course of four days at Trek, but it was amazing how many people got injured. I made it through fine, it was hot but it was a good experience (although one I should not have had AGAIN if Teena had not dropped out).

Today's run was good. Felt nice to get out and run.

Nice to see you made it back safely.

From Teena on Mon, Aug 03, 2009 at 15:14:19 from 67.177.20.13

Alright Vuyk ... that is ENOUGH!!!! I can't help it that you are not nearly as busy as me!!!!!!! :)

Oh man ... okay ... so really liked your hill. I think you are right, that is definitely a good one to train on. 1/3 of a mile with some decent grade. Steeper than 70th but not as steep as Puke Hill.

Will you come with me next time?

From Teena on Mon, Aug 03, 2009 at 15:14:32 from 67.177.20.13

Oh yeah ... nice job on your run!!! :)

From Smooth on Mon, Aug 03, 2009 at 15:41:15 from 71.32.234.135

Welcome back to the world of running from the Trek. Seriously, Teena did a speedy long run on Thu., a killer run on Fri., early run on Sat before 18 holes of golf and picnicking at the park. She is WAY too busier than you!!! :-D Next time, tell bishop Darrin or whoever in charge of Trek that you HAVE to accompany Teena on her run, that should be good enough excuse! :)

Oh btw, NICE run and pace. Looks like you're all recovered!

From Teena on Mon, Aug 03, 2009 at 15:46:41 from 67.177.20.13

Oh Smooth -- I am suppose to be studying right now but can't stop laughing!!! Oh man ... oh man ... oh man ... seriously can not stop laughing!!!

I just love you!!!

(Btw ... reading about diarrhea right now ... did you know that there are four types??? The kind that runners get is of the motility type!! How did I ever get along without knowing this stuff??)

From RivertonPaul on Mon, Aug 03, 2009 at 15:47:57 from 67.42.27.114

Teena, you and Kathie are on one today.

From Smooth on Mon, Aug 03, 2009 at 15:50:36 from 71.32.234.135

That's some serious stuff you're studying, Teena! How awesome to be able to classify one's diarrhea! It comes in handy when you have the runs on the run. "-)

From Teena on Mon, Aug 03, 2009 at 15:53:07 from 67.177.20.13

Totally serious!! I can feel my brain muscles expanding exponentially as we type!!!

From Smooth on Mon, Aug 03, 2009 at 15:59:24 from 71.32.234.135

Teena,

What in the world is brain muscles? There are grey matters, neurons, vessels, lobes...does brain have muscles?

From RivertonPaul on Mon, Aug 03, 2009 at 16:06:51 from 67.42.27.114

Nurse Smoothie aren't you retired?

From Teena on Mon, Aug 03, 2009 at 16:07:01 from 67.177.20.13

Oh Smooth ... you are so right ... I obviously need to take an additional physiology class!! Brain muscles just sounded good!! Love you!!!

From Smooth on Mon, Aug 03, 2009 at 16:13:11 from 71.32.234.135

Paul, yes I'm retired...but picked up a new hobby ~ teasing Teena to death!

Teena, NO! No additional physiology class! You just have muscles on your mind...er muscles all over your tiny body! :-) Now better go exercise that brilliant mind of yours...STUDY STUDY STUDY...then you can party AFTER Wed. LOVE YOU!!!!

From Teena on Mon, Aug 03, 2009 at 16:24:21 from 67.177.20.13

Smoothi,

Your hilarious comments are such a great respite from studying every now and then!! Laughter is just plain good for the soul!!!

The final is actually Thursday! Can you believe I have class on Wednesday night as well?? CRAZY STUFF!!!

We will definitely have to party hard for the 2 weeks before Fall session begins. I will be in Yellowstone for part of that ... but we need to plan some stuff!! :)

From Smooth on Mon, Aug 03, 2009 at 16:32:41 from 71.32.234.135

Finals on Thur? STINK! Whatya doing on Fri? I have company next week. K, I'll PM you so JohnnyV can get rid of us!

From Rhett on Mon, Aug 03, 2009 at 19:56:02 from 74.36.34.147

Nice runny Johnny. Every time we have some kind of youth or Scout hiking adventer that is 20 to 30 miles over a few days I always tell the others that I'm just going to run the distance in a few hours and then camp at the end for the next few days and wait for them. No one else is ever very amuzed by that, but I think it would be a great day. Good for you for sacrificing some time for the Trek.

From MarcE on Thu, Aug 06, 2009 at 22:28:34 from 24.155.140.8

I read about you over on Teena's blog, I just had to stop over and say "Hi".

Your PRs look like mine..in fact, I ran a 3:20:02 at SGM in 2007! What are you going for this year?
